USS Constitution Model Ship

The USS Constitution Model Ship is an exclusive edition, handcrafted from the highest quality, beautiful wood. Rosewood, mahogany, teak, and other exotic woods are carefully selected to accent each part of the model. This replicas magnificent details include metal anchors and cannons, authentic crows nest, advanced intricate rigging, rolled sails, wood inlay hull, inlay deck, an ornate stern, and many more. Not one plastic part!

The U.S.S. Constitution, a three-mast frigate, is the world’s oldest commissioned warship. Built primarily with dense southern live oak, its hull was 21 inches thick in an era when 18 inches was common. Paul Revere forged the copper spikes and bolts that held the planks in place. The 204-foot-long ship was first put to sea in 1798 and its most famous era of naval warfare was the War of 1812 against Britain when it captured numerous merchant ships and defeated five warships, including the H.M.S. Guerriere. It was during the ferocious battle with the Guerriere that British seamen, astonished at how their cannonballs were bouncing off the Constitution’s hull, cried out, "Sir, Her sides are made from Iron!" Hence, the nickname, "Old Ironsides." The Constitution today is a national landmark and is currently docked in Boston.

The Curtiss JN-4 Jenny was one of a series of JN biplanes built by the Curtiss Aeroplane Company of Hammondsport, New York, later the Curtiss Aeroplane and Motor Company. Although the Curtiss JN series was originally produced as a training aircraft for the U.S. Army, the Jenny (the common nickname derived from JN) continued post-World War I as a civil aircraft as it became the backbone of American post-war [civil] aviation. Thousands of surplus Jennys were sold at bargain prices to private owners in the years after the War and became central to the barnstorming era that helped awaken America to civil aviation through much of the 1920.

On the ship, you will spot amazing details such as: wooden bowsprit, foremast, mainmast, and mizzen mast. They are all connected to numerous fabric sails with detailed stitching, all rigging are painstakingly fastened by hand in matching colors. On the main deck, you will come across 3 wooden boats sitting on top of a bunker, a wooden cabin, and a wooden frame with a metal bell. On the quarter deck, there’s navigational area with 2 metal steering wheels for the captain and 2 wooden cabins. There are wooden railings surrounding the beakdeck area toward the quarter deck area with metal cannons station on top. You can easily spot 2 rows of numerous windows on both side of the hull. In addition, you will find supplementary crafted metal ornaments on the ship such as: anchors, lantern, statues, and much more...There’s also a wooden rudder to help the ship maneuver in the right direction. Our model was built according to scale through original plans, pictures and drawings.

In 1768 Lieutenant James Cook, Royal Navy, set sail on HMS Endeavour on a voyage of exploration and scientific investigation and through his journeys. Cook was considered to be one of the greatest explorers. In 1770 Cook reached New Zealand where he circumnavigated and completely charted the north and south islands before continuing west. In April, he sighted the east coast of Australia and sailed north along the coast before anchoring in what he named Botany Bay. He then continued north to Cape York and on to Jakarta and Indonesia. During the four months voyage along the coast Cook charted the coastline from Victoria to Queensland and proclaimed the eastern part of the continent for Great Britain. Cook was the first person to accurately chart a substantial part of the coastline of Australia and to fix the continent in relation to known waters.

Fairfax was a 52-gun third rate Speaker-class frigate of the Commonwealth of England, built by Peter Pett I at Deptford and launched in 1650. She was a full rigged ship and was destroyed in an accidental fire in 1653. In the British Royal Navy, a third rate was a ship of the line which from the 1720s mounted between 64 and 80 guns, typically built with two gun decks (thus the related term two-decker).

Virginia in the Battle of Hampton Roads. It is available as a FULLY ASSEMBLED model ready to be proudly displayed as a piece of history.
